A product development company was asked to develop a new video cassette box that would provide added value and visual attraction on display.

The consultants designed a clear plastic shell that used a metal vapour deposition process. The coating gave the mouldings high surface reflectivity and pearlesence that was dependent upon the reflection angle.

We made custom rendering shaders to accurately demonstrate this effect on the 3D model, built entirely from original 2D engineering drawings.
